We are delighted that Andrew Moore will join the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×¹Ù·½ (RCM) as Artistic Director from Spring 2025.
Head of Music for the Edinburgh International Festival for over a decade, Andrew oversaw a diverse range of programming and cultivated relationships with major international institutions and orchestras, conductors and musicians, with notable highlights including concert performances of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen, semi-staged performances of West Side Story in Edinburgh and the curation of many large-scale cross artform projects.
Spanning more than 20 years, Andrew’s career includes roles with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of Ancient Music where he led the orchestra’s participation in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Royal Northern Sinfonia. His extensive international experience includes developing residencies with major organisations across North America and Asia, and he has collaborated closely with many of the world’s most respected artists such as Gustavo Dudamel, the late Sir Andrew Davis, Marin Alsop, Edward Gardner and Nicola Benedetti.
Andrew Moore commented: ‘I am really excited about joining the team at the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×¹Ù·½ in early 2025 and bringing my experience gained with orchestras and festivals in the UK and internationally to shape future generations of performers, composers and academics.  I have long admired the focus that the College places on its artistic programme, the diverse range of world class visiting partners and interesting collaborators, and I look forward to continuing to build a world-leading programme that inspires, innovates and challenges.’
James Williams, Director of the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×¹Ù·½, commented: ‘The Royal College of Music is delighted to welcome Andrew Moore as our new Artistic Director. He brings to the College incredible wide-ranging industry experience and an international perspective that reflects the breadth and creative ambition of the RCM’s performance programme’
