Matt is a Bachelor of Music (BMus) graduate from the º£½ÇÂÒÂ×¹Ù·½, a Royal Over-Seas League finalist, in-demand as a recital soloist and principal clarinettist with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. 

Matt studied under Tim Lines, Barnaby Robson, Peter Sparks, Richard Hosford, Janet Hilton and Michael Harris at the RCM. His studies were generously supported by The Laurence Winston Scholarship. In September 2021, he was appointed principal clarinettist with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, marking an outstanding step in his career as a professional musician.

While studying, Matt also performed as guest principal with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra among others. Matt made the most of his time studying in London with solo recitals at St Martin-in-the-Fields, St James’ Piccadilly, and the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room.
